HEALTHY Shabu-Shabu...

I have this thing against going to a restaurant and being forced to cook my own food, but last Tuesday Josh and I ended up going to this Healthy Shabu-Shabu event anyway.

The point of the event was to educate the chosen few (bloggers) on the ways of cooking Shabu-Shabu properly, and we were each given generous portions of meat and vegetables and a huge pot of boiling water.

Yay.

It should be noted that my cooking skillz extend only to the joys of pasta and its various sauces, so the fact that I managed to pull together a delicious meal (whilst only half-listening to the speaker, no less), should tell you something.

You're supposed to put the corn in first, then some other stuff, then the other stuff after that, then whatever's left. Yeah, I wasn't paying attention. :|

But anyway, bottom line? Cook the stuff they put in front of you in the boiling pot of water. It tastes good, it's messy, and part of the fun is experimentation. Learning how to do it right is all well and good, but as my design professor always used to say-- Think. Create. Innovate!

(Which has nothing to do with cooking shabu-shabu, but I thought it was an interesting quote.) T_T
